The best thing about a photograph is that it never changes. That moment in time is captured forever. Even as that person grows up that split second is frozen forever and we have the photograph to prove it.
I love pictures so why have I waited so long before I get some professional photographs? The answer is simple…..three children. Of this young trio I have one who finds it possible to get dirty in the bath; one who can’t sit still; and one who spends more time in front of the mirror than the rest of the house put together.
Then, the offer came of a photo shoot from Amy Russell Photography. Amy had posted a special offer and I had seen first hand how fabulous she was having covered a friend’s wedding. There was no doubt she was brilliant and who better than ask to capture the moment.
I contacted Amy apologising in advance that this shoot would either result in her tearing her hair out or resorting to drink! A date was set for February, 2014, and all three of my rugrats got chicken pox so it had to be rescheduled for March.
All the children arrived all ready and clean so we were good to go. Amy made us feel very welcome and was fantastic with the kids. They say never work with animals or children so I didn’t envy Amy in the slightest.
Amy had the patience of a saint and just kept snapping away whilst me and Matt did our best to get their attention where Amy needed it. A hidden camera would have been comical for this I’m sure. It’s safe to say that Amy didn’t let us down; capturing the memories we so desperately want to keep forever. We have some fantastic pictures which really make us smile when we look at them.
A very good quote that I think sums up the day and our life in general is this….
“Life is like a camera,
Focus on what is important,
Capture the good times,
Develop from the negatives and,
If things don’t work out, take another shot.”
Thank you so much Amy Russell Photography. We highly recommend her!
